Considerations And Frequently Voiced Concerns

HOME INSPECTION COST  Let’s help you put the cost of a home inspection in
perspective: My inspections are on average $100-200 more than the commodity
inspectors charge.
TOO MUCH MONEY  My clients pay a higher fee for my service when
compared to commodity grade inspection services. I feel that my clients actually get
more bang for their buck by investing in my services than by saving money with a
cheaper firm. My clients are paying for a professional opinion and that is worth the
higher fee.
TOO CRITICAL – How is it possible to be too critical when you are an inspector?
The nature of this profession is to identify what is right and what is wrong with the
building. I was blessed with a critical eye and I strive to be the very best inspector
that I can be. My clients love the fact that I am extremely critical and detailed in
my investigation and reporting. If you want to save money, then go with another
firm and ask yourself what they are not reporting for their lesser fee.
HOME INSPECTION IN PERSPECTIVE – If the inspection turns up little wrong
with the home (few of my thorough home inspections do), you’ve bought some
relatively inexpensive peace of mind.   If the inspection finds serious problems
(many do), then the few hundred dollars you invest in a home inspection could end
up saving you thousands or tens of thousands of dollars. If you hire an
inexperienced home inspector major problems are more likely to be missed. Having
an inspector learn on your time can cost you much more than you saved initially.
VALUE TO MY CLIENTS – Initially some of my clients pay a little more for the
inspection, ultimately they save money!  Short term savings occur during
negotiations with the seller.  Long term savings occur since problems with the
home can be remedied before additional damages are incurred.
WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT?  My thoroughness, willingness and patience
will allow time to explain everything you need to know about your new home to
you and answer your questions! My inspection cost may be a little higher but the
added value and peace of mind you obtain is well worth it.
HIGHLY QUALIFIED INSPECTOR – As a highly qualified and experienced
home inspector, I am honest professional who will take the time to explain how
your home functions in plain language that you can understand.  When I ask (and I
will many times) if you have any questions it is because I love to answer your
questions!  I know for a fact that it takes a few years to learn how to inspect a
home not a few weeks. There is a steep learning curve for new inspectors. Make
sure you hire the most experienced inspector you can!
EASY TO READ HOME INSPECTION REPORTS – When terms like unsafe,
hazardous and immediate corrective action are called for they are used in a clear
and easy to understand format.  I do not play word games or tell clients to monitor
conditions rather than take the necessary corrective actions.
TIME SAVINGS – I know my clients are in a hurry to get their typed report. My
report will be ready and e-mailed to you and your agent the same day or the
following day due to the complexity of the inspection or the time of day the
inspection finished (late evening).  I’d be glad to allow some extra time to review
any items of concern in the days following the inspection and I am also available
over the phone to discuss all of your concerns and any questions after your review
of the inspection. Your review of the report after the fact allows you plenty of time
for careful consideration.
